I am a researcher, public engagement professional and creative producer interested in responsible innovation and participation of publics in research. All aspects of my work revolve around research; currently that means researching researchers and research cultures for the Emerging Research Cultures project. From 2018-2023, I was responsible for producing We The Curious'- an educational charity and South West England's leading science centre- public engagement with research programme of activities, workshops and participatory experiences, co-produced with research partners. I also have experience supporting research in different capacities including as a Research Project Manager for the MEMPAZ project at the Department of Hispanic, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at the University of Bristol as well as working with the University of Bristol's Public Engagement Team developing toolkits aimed at training researchers on Responsible Innovation. Alongside my work with the Emerging Research Cultures project, I work as a freelancer producing public programmes in collaboration with researchers. I am an Associate Researcher at the Department of Hispanic, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at the University of Bristol, and hold a PhD in Molecular Plant Sciences from The University of Edinburgh. I have extensive experience of research and practice in social and cultural aspects of science. My work focusing on research culture in PhD training has been commissioned by Wellcome. I am the PI of Emerging Research Cultures, a project that supports the Wellcome PhD programmes community of practice. My work has also been commissioned to support collaboration and interdisciplinarity in the biosciences and in chemicals regulation and policy by the European Commission Joint Research Centre. I am the author of several publications and reports, including BeAMS (Bridging Across Methods in the BioSciences) Science for Policy Report. A philosopher of science and technology by background, my prior academic work combined philosophical and STS approaches to studies of technology mediation in the biosciences and in medical sciences.
